Meet Our Team

We have a passion and love for what we do!

Jill has been teaching Dance and Vocal Instruction for over 20 years.
She has received ``Best Director`` ``Best Choreography``, ``Overall Grand Champion``, numerous
``1st Place” and ``High Point`` awards.

Jill was the recipient of several Scholarship Awards for Academic Achievement, Music Dance Theatre and Vocal Performance. She was ‘Miss American Fork', and the Talent Winner & Top Five Finalist at Miss Utah. Jill received at ``Perfect Score`` in Talent Division at Miss Utah and Miss American Fork.
She was offered Professional Leading Rolls in “Les Miserable” & “Phantom of the Opera”
Jill has had leading roles in several professional, college, and local productions, such as “Gift of Christmas”, Forum”, “Sophisticated Ladies”,” My Fair Lady”, “Rumors”, “West Side Story” and “Sound of Music.”

Jill has Received honors such as ``Best Soprano``, ``Magna Cume Laude Graduate``, ``Best Supporting Actress`` & “The Deans List”.
She has judged numerous scholarship pageants, vocal and dance competitions.
She has coached and choreographed for Lehi Cheer and lead her teams to earn “Top Banana” & “1st Place.

Jill was asked to play the mother in a Mormon Message and has acted in short film for LDS Motion Picture studio.
Her most treasured roll is being a mom to her four children. (As well as her dance and cheer kids.)
She is happily married to her husband Tony G. Trane and is looking forward to what the future holds.

Forest Roby

Jazz/Ballet Instructor
Cherese began dancing at the age of three. For the majority of her childhood she trained at The Dance Club in Orem Utah. There she won various awards and was able to perform in the 2002 Winter Olympic Closing Ceremonies. Cherese Emery was a member of the Lone Peak Chevalier Drill team where she led her team to a state championship in 2005. Her senior year she was crowned Miss Dance Drill Utah in 2006, and then went on to becoming a runner up in the Miss Dance Drill USA pageant. Following high school, Cherese attended Brigham Young University and became a National Champion BYU Cougarette for 2 years. She married her high school sweetheart Jackson Emery, and now has two beautiful little boys, Treyton and McKade.

Cherese’s love of teaching dance began at the young age of 14, when she started her own studio in her parent’s basement. From then on she knew that she had a passion for teaching and continued to teach and choreograph for many studios and drill teams throughout the state of Utah. She is honored to be the Company Director at The Dance Academy, and enjoys every minute she gets to spend with her students.

Cherese Emery

Company Director
Kylie grew up in Lehi and started dancing at the Jazz 'n Place Dance Studio once she turned five years old. She started out as a once a week dancer and has fallen in love with dance and has been dancing ever since. Kylie was fortunate enough to make the competition team when she was seven and continued to grow in the competition world until she graduated from high school.

Kylie was on the Lehi Drill team as a Co-Captain her Junior year and Captain her Senior year, while she continued to dance at the studio, as well as on the Lehi Dance Company. Kylie had the wonderful opportunity to be in the 2002 Winter Olympics as a Child of Light Dancer. She also danced in The Stadium of Fire, American Mall and also has been in the Disney Channel movies; High School Musical One and Three, The Hannah Montana Movie, and Minute Men. After graduating high school Kylie went on to dance for the Waukeenyans dance team at Southern Utah University, where she received a top ten collegiate dancer award in the state.

Kylie currently is married to the love of her life, Clint, and is a mother to a wonderful son, Griffin. As she progresses her teaching and learning, she continues to teach at various dance studios and takes many dance classes at Utah Valley University (UVU). She is currently pursuing her bachelors degree in Mathematics Education at UVU,

Michelle Taylor

Head Ballet Instructor
Jessica started dancing at the age of three years old. She trained at multiple studios and studied Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Tap, Tumbling, and Modern. At the age of 5, Jessica starred in multiple theatrical productions at the Villa Playhouse Theater, such as: The Wizard of Oz, Nutcracker The Musical, and Charlotte's Web.She has performed in many other productions as various lead roles in Cinderella, The Lion King and The Polar Express.

Jessica began competing on a competition dance team at the age of 12 and loved it. Since then she knew she wanted to continue to competitively dance and became a member dance company and drill team at Lehi High School.

Jessica began teaching at Avondale Academy at the age of 15, and has been teaching ever since. Jessica is excited to begin her second year at The Dance Academy. She enjoys helping her students build strong basic technique, and loves seeing her students excel and achieve their dancing goals.
